The Rotterdam-Singapore Green and Digital Shipping Corridor (GDSC) successfully conducted a pilot for bunkering liquefied bio-methane (LBM) at the Port of Rotterdam on October 19, 2024, supplying 100 tonnes of LBM from Shell to CMA CGM’s LNG-powered ship. Derived from waste, this fuel offers a lower-emission alternative to traditional marine fuels, aligning with GDSC's goal of promoting near-zero emission fuels. A Proof of Sustainability certificate was issued, confirming compliance with EU regulations, and a similar pilot is planned for the Port of Singapore, contributing to maritime decarbonization efforts.
