The U.S. Postal Service is set to raise prices on various shipping services, effective January 19, 2025, to support its network investments. The increases will affect services like Ground Advantage, Priority Mail, and Parcel Select, with average hikes ranging from 3.2% to 9.2%. The agency aims to remain competitive against FedEx and UPS, despite experiencing a net loss of $9.5 billion in fiscal 2024. Additionally, new fees for shipping live animals and perishable goods will be introduced, reflecting higher handling costs.
