Air freight rates increased again last month, with the Baltic Air Freight Index rising 8.1% from the previous month and 10.9% year-over-year. While significant gains were observed on major export routes from Asia to Europe and North America, some forwarders expect a muted peak season compared to earlier predictions. Rates from Hong Kong and Shanghai showed notable month-over-month increases, while European routes also saw gains, though still down year-over-year for some destinations. In contrast, outbound routes from Chicago experienced a decline.
