Maersk has entered into a long-term agreement for the procurement of methanol.

A.P. Moller - Maersk has signed a long-term bio-methanol offtake agreement with LONGi Green Energy, aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions from its dual-fuel methanol container fleet. This partnership is part of Maersk's broader strategy to secure sustainable fuel sources, with methanol seen as a key alternative to fossil fuels. The bio-methanol will be produced in Central China from agricultural residues, achieving a lifecycle GHG emissions reduction of at least 65%. The first volumes are anticipated by 2026, supporting Maersk's goal of meeting over 50% of its methanol needs by 2027.
