In September 2024, global air cargo demand, measured in cargo tonne-kilometres, rose by 9.4% year-on-year, marking 14 months of consistent growth, driven by a 10.5% increase in international operations. Capacity also rose by 6.4%, with international belly capacity seeing a significant 10.3% growth. IATA's Director General noted that cargo volumes and yields are at record highs, with an 11.7% yield increase compared to 2023. Regionally, Latin America led with 20.9% demand growth, while Asia-Pacific and Europe also showed strong performance. International routes benefitted from increased e-commerce demand.
