Airbus has successfully conducted the maiden flight of its A350F freighter from Toulouse, initiating a certification campaign aimed at achieving EASA type certification and entering service. The first test flight lasted over four hours, reaching 25,000 feet and 340 knots, confirming the aircraft's performance aligned with pre-flight models. The certification program will involve approximately 400 flight hours over 10 months, with a second aircraft, MSN701, set for systems testing. The A350F, powered by Rolls-Royce engines, boasts a payload capacity of 111 tonnes and aims to significantly reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Airbus has received 115 orders for the A350F, marking its return to the cargo market.
