Swissport International has reached an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Colombian ground services firm Giraldo Hermanos International SAS, marking its entry into Colombia and bolstering its presence in Latin America, where it operates at 85 airports in 15 countries. GHI, which provides ground handling services at major Colombian airports, serves notable clients like Copa Airlines and FedEx. Leaders from both companies emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership for enhancing operational capabilities and supporting airline customers, as Colombia is a key market for aviation and cargo services in the region.
