Postal operators in the International Post Corporation (IPC) have successfully reduced their annual CO₂ emissions by 41% since 2008, working towards a 50% reduction target by 2030. Key advancements include increased renewable energy use and the adoption of electric delivery fleets, notably by Deutsche Post AG, which now operates 40,000 electric vehicles supported by renewable energy. An IPC survey shows 70% of online retailers are satisfied with postal operators' sustainability efforts. Additionally, a Carbon Footprint Calculator has been introduced to enhance transparency regarding emissions from shipments, aiming to facilitate informed decisions on emissions reduction.
