AfA calls on the US and Canada to restart trade discussions.

The Airforwarders Association (AfA) urges U.S. and Canadian policymakers to restart trade negotiations as Canada plans to impose retaliatory tariffs on $27.6 billion of U.S. imports starting September 8. These tariffs threaten to strain cross-border supply chains and raise business costs. AfA Executive Director Brandon Fried highlighted that existing tariffs have already reduced shipping volumes and altered supply chains for many freight forwarders. The ongoing trade uncertainty, particularly regarding the USMCA, necessitates strong trade ties, and the AfA aims to collaborate with policymakers to address these challenges.
