Students at TU Eindhoven are evaluating Stella Juva.

The Solar Team Eindhoven from TU Eindhoven has tested Stella Juva, the world’s first solar-powered ambulance, in Kenya to enhance medical care access in remote areas lacking infrastructure and fuel. Developed by 23 students in collaboration with Amref Health Africa, Stella Juva uses solar energy for operation and medical equipment. The project involved extensive logistics to transport the vehicle to Nairobi, supported by Cargolux. The ambulance has proven reliable on challenging terrains, covering over 800 kilometers, and is equipped with essential medical tools, ensuring energy independence for healthcare delivery.
