India enhances its cargo transshipment network.

Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu inaugurated the expanded phase of India's transshipment cargo reforms at the Transshipment Excellence Centre at IGI Airport on August 19. The government aims to enhance ease of doing business in aviation by eliminating mandatory re-screening of transshipment cargo, which is expected to reduce turnaround times and handling costs. A proof of concept on the Chennai–Delhi–Frankfurt route significantly decreased transit time. The network has now expanded to four more domestic stations and two international destinations, projecting an 80% growth in cargo volumes. Naidu envisions positioning India as a global cargo transshipment hub.
