Port of LA has reported its second-highest July performance ever.

In July, the Port of Los Angeles processed 960,464 TEUs, marking the second-busiest July in its history and continuing a trend of high cargo volumes. Executive Director Gene Seroka noted that while July's cargo was 6% lower than last year's record, it remained 7.5% above the five-year average. The port is prepared for increased cargo due to changing global trade patterns. Loaded imports totaled 499,552 TEUs, down 8% from last year, while loaded exports also decreased. For the first seven months of 2023, the port's total cargo was 6,083,067 TEUs, up 1.8% from the previous year.
