Worldwide air cargo volume declines by 4% during the first week of August.

In the first week of August, global airfreight volumes dropped by 4%, with declines observed from all regions, according to WorldACD. Traffic decreased particularly from the Middle East and South Asia (6%) and Europe (4%), while Asia Pacific saw a 3% reduction. Despite this, year-on-year traffic rose by 1%. The decline was influenced by Typhoon Dolphin, which disrupted operations in China, causing notable drops in exports to Europe and the US. Additionally, global airfreight capacity fell by 1%, while average rates experienced slight reductions, remaining 22% higher than the previous year.
