VietJet will launch three direct flights to Sri Lanka each week.

VietJet Air will launch direct flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Colombo starting August 18, 2026, marking the first direct air link between Vietnam and Sri Lanka. The service will operate three weekly round trips using Airbus A320 aircraft, with a flight duration of about five hours. This initiative aims to enhance bilateral trade, which reached approximately $324 million in 2025, and is part of VietJet's broader international expansion, which includes new routes and a growing fleet to support trade and tourism between Vietnam and other regions.
