MASkargo will transition its freighter operations from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) to Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMI) starting in September, initially offering one weekly service. This move comes as CSMIA prepares for a temporary suspension of dedicated freighter operations due to infrastructure upgrades. Other carriers, including Cathay Cargo and IndiGo CarGo, are also relocating to NMI. However, concerns persist regarding NMI's readiness to handle the increased freighter traffic, especially in terms of infrastructure and operational support, as CSMIA's ecosystem has long supported cargo operations.
