The Cathay Group revealed its June 2026 traffic statistics and first-half financial performance, showing a 9.3% year-on-year increase in cargo transported. Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau noted strong cargo flows from the Chinese Mainland to Southeast Asia and steady demand within the region. The company anticipates ongoing healthy cargo flows but is monitoring potential impacts from new European customs duties on low-value imports. Overall, Cathay expects a profit of approximately HK$6.0 to HK$6.5 billion for the first half of 2026, driven by strong demand and improved performance across its operations.
