Factors such as increased passenger bellyhold capacity during summer and improved carrier readiness contributed to this decline. Rates from China to Europe fell, while those to the US stayed stable. Meanwhile, South Korean rates weakened, and various routes showed mixed results. The Frankfurt index dropped 7.6%, contrasting with a 7.4% rise in London Heathrow rates.
