Western Sydney International (WSI) Airport has begun commercial freight operations with its new 24-hour Cargo Precinct, marking a significant advancement in Australia’s air cargo industry. This facility aims to enhance global connectivity, support local industries, and improve supply chain efficiency, particularly for perishable goods and essential medicines. With initial capacity for 250,000 tonnes of freight annually and potential for 1.8 million tonnes in the future, the precinct is set to create thousands of jobs and foster economic growth in Western Sydney, contributing to a $31 billion investment pipeline in the region.
