Alaska Air Cargo increases the capacity of its freighter fleet twofold.

Alaska Airlines has signed long-term leases for four additional Boeing 737-800 Converted Freighter aircraft, increasing its dedicated cargo fleet from five to nine planes by 2027. This expansion will enhance cargo operations between Alaska, Hawai'i, and the contiguous U.S., benefiting the e-commerce and logistics sectors in Hawai'i. The new freighters will not only replace Hawaiian Airlines' retiring fleet but also improve the reliability of transporting goods, including perishable items, thereby supporting local agriculture and diversifying Alaska Air Group's revenue through a strategic plan aimed at generating $150 million in new annual profit.
