ePlane unveils its initial full-sized prototype of the e200X eVTOL aircraft.

The ePlane Company, an aerospace startup from IIT Madras, has introduced its first full-scale electric aircraft prototype, the e200X (PT-01), at its new facility in Chennai. After obtaining Design Organisation Approval in 2023, the company is set to start certified flight testing by mid-2027. The compact e200X, designed for urban transport, can carry a pilot and either two passengers or 200 kg of cargo, with a range of 110 km. It features advanced technology including an 800-volt propulsion system and NVIDIA computing platform, with significant demand projected for emergency medical transport.
