Cargo flight trials commence at Western Sydney International.

Western Sydney International Airport has initiated cargo precinct trial flights as part of its operational readiness program ahead of its official opening on July 26. The first freighter, a Qantas A321, landed on Monday, marking the commencement of live operational trials at the airport's 24-hour cargo hub. CEO Simon Hickey emphasized the importance of these trials in preparing for commercial freight operations, with further tests planned over the next two weeks. The facility aims to enhance Sydney's air cargo capacity, supporting the movement of up to 220,000 tonnes of freight annually.
