Chris Daniels, Chief Commercial Officer of Global K9, emphasized the need for the UK to revise its regulations on canine screening for aerospace cargo, as current policies lead to increased costs, emissions, and inefficiencies. He pointed out that UK-certified canine teams cannot screen aircraft engines, forcing shipments to be routed to European airports for screening before returning to the UK. This detour adds unnecessary expenses and delays. Allowing canine teams to screen engines domestically would reduce costs and emissions while enhancing the UK's competitiveness in the air cargo sector.
