DP World has achieved over 160,000 tonnes of CO2e savings in UK supply chains within three years through enhanced rail freight, lower-carbon trucking, and innovative carbon inset programs. The Modal Shift Programme, launched in September 2023, increased rail freight at Southampton from 21% to over 30%, shifting more than 200,000 truck trips to rail. Their Low Carbon Truck Programme has registered over 1,500 trucks transitioning to Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO). Additionally, the Carbon Inset Programme has expanded, allowing customers to use emissions reductions from various initiatives toward their decarbonisation goals, emphasizing collaboration in achieving a net-zero economy.
