San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is investing over $300 million to expand its air cargo infrastructure, enhancing capacity and efficiency with automated systems. The project, slated for completion in spring 2028, includes a 310,000 square-foot terminal designed for rapid cargo movement. Lödige Industries will provide advanced cargo handling technology, which includes Elevating Transfer Vehicles for efficient storage and retrieval of cargo. This expansion reflects a broader trend in North America to modernize airport cargo facilities in response to rising e-commerce and global trade demands.
