China's low-value e-commerce exports saw a 7% decline year-on-year in May 2026, continuing a six-month contraction trend that began in mid-2025. Exports to the EU fell significantly, with a 32% drop in April, while shipments to the US increased by 26%, though this recovery is against a backdrop of a prior 40% decline. Guangdong and Shanghai are primary export hubs, with Asia-Pacific as the leading destination. In response to delivery challenges, Cainiao has launched a service guaranteeing timely deliveries for China-US and China-Germany routes, enhancing confidence for sellers and consumers.
