Noida International Airport (NIA) is set to commence cargo operations with its first flight from Chennai on June 17, operated by Afcom Cargo. This flight, utilizing a Boeing 737-800 freighter, aims to showcase the airport's cargo infrastructure and its potential to enhance trade in North India. Positioned as a key logistics hub for western Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region, NIA is designed to alleviate pressure on Delhi's aviation network. The initial cargo facilities cover 80 acres, with a capacity to handle 200,000 metric tonnes annually, expandable to 1.5 million tonnes in future phases.
