CSX introduces a pair of special edition locomotives.

CSX Corp. has introduced two commemorative locomotives to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, emphasizing the railroad's vital contribution to the nation's economy. CSX CEO Steve Angel noted that freight railroads have been integral to American growth for over two centuries. The locomotives, numbered 250 and 2026, feature distinct designs celebrating national themes, with Unit 250 showcasing the Stars and Stripes, and Unit 2026 highlighting the bald eagle and the phrase “United We Stand.” Both will participate in a ceremonial run in Washington, D.C., before entering regular service.
