The Airforwarders Association (AfA) has expressed concern to the US Department of Homeland Security about potential reductions in Customs and Border Protection (CBP) operations at certain airports, warning it could disrupt time-sensitive air cargo supply chains and critical goods movement. In a letter to DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin, AfA emphasized the importance of CBP's presence for international cargo, highlighting risks for industries reliant on air freight, such as pharmaceuticals and manufacturing. They urged DHS to maintain staffing levels and consult the industry before implementing any changes.
