Atlas Air secures a 49% ownership interest in Air Atlanta via a strategic agreement.

Atlas Air Worldwide has signed a Share Purchase Agreement to acquire a 49% stake in Air Atlanta, an ACMI and aircraft management operator based in Iceland. This strategic move aims to enhance Atlas's presence in international markets amid a global shortage of widebody freighter capacity. The deal involves Atlas leasing back aircraft owned by Air Atlanta, which operates 14 freighter aircraft. The existing management will retain control with a 51% interest. The transaction is part of Atlas's "One Atlas" strategy and is expected to close in Q3 2026, pending regulatory approvals.
