The Royal Thai Air Force has enhanced its defense capabilities by acquiring two Airbus C295 aircraft in a tactical transport configuration. These planes will be operated by the 46th Wing Division from Phitsanulok air base, complementing the existing three C295s used by the Royal Thai Army since 2016. The aircraft, which can carry 70 troops or 49 paratroopers and operate from unprepared runways, will be assembled in Spain, with delivery expected in the first half of 2029. Airbus is also partnering with Thai Aviation Industries for fleet maintenance support.
