In April 2026, Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) processed 423,000 tonnes of cargo, a 4.9% increase from the previous year, with cargo flight movements rising 4.3% to 6,605. The growth was primarily driven by a 20.2% rise in transshipment traffic and a 6.5% increase in imports, while exports saw a minor decline of 0.3%. Regional performance varied, with Europe and Southeast Asia showing growth, countered by weaker demand from North America and the Middle East. HKIA also received the Platinum Award in the 2026 ACI Green Airports Recognition for its climate resilience efforts.
