Matternet and Amprius Technologies have formed a collaboration to enhance autonomous drone delivery using silicon anode battery technology. Amprius's battery cells are now integrated into Matternet's M2 aircraft and will support future drone platforms. This partnership aims to improve aircraft range, payload capacity, and operational efficiency as demand for aerial logistics grows. Amprius's silicon anode cells offer double the energy density of traditional batteries, enabling lighter drones with extended flight ranges and reduced costs. The collaboration will optimize battery performance to support Matternet's expansion, with production readiness targeted for early 2027.
