Avianca Cargo transports 21,000 tons of flowers for Mother's Day.

Avianca Cargo achieved its largest seasonal flower operation in history by transporting over 21,000 tonnes of flowers from Colombia and Ecuador during the 2026 Mother’s Day season, operating more than 330 flights and dedicating 42% of its capacity to this purpose. The airline supported the increased demand with nine cargo aircraft and additional leased capacity. Avianca Cargo accounted for 42% of Colombian flower exports to the U.S., with Miami serving as a key entry point. The carrier also enhanced its infrastructure and staffing, significantly boosting efficiency during peak export periods.
