APM Terminals Japan, part of the Maersk Group, has signed a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with FPS Inc. to source renewable electricity for its operations at the Port of Yokohama. This agreement aims to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 2.6 ktCO2e annually, transitioning from fossil-based electricity to solar power. The 20-year PPA, effective from April 2026, supports Maersk's goal of achieving 100% renewable electricity by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2040, while also contributing to Japan's energy transition through the addition of new solar capacity.
