During the week of April 20-26, 2026, global air cargo volumes and capacity increased by 3%, driven by seasonal demand and market adjustments related to the Middle East situation. Central and South America saw a significant 19% rise, mainly from flower exports ahead of Mother's Day. While the Middle East and South Asia experienced a slight increase in tonnages, North America faced a 2% decline. Global air cargo rates continued to climb due to limited capacity and higher fuel costs, with spot rates rising by 2% to $3.76 per kilogram. Year-on-year, rates from various regions showed substantial increases, particularly from the Middle East and South Asia.
