Kenya welcomes rare mountain bongos through a conservation initiative at JKIA.

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport recently celebrated a significant conservation achievement with the arrival of four rare mountain bongos from the Czech Republic, marking progress in efforts to restore the species. The event, attended by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and other key stakeholders, emphasized the airport's role in supporting environmental initiatives. KAA Managing Director Moses Wekesa highlighted the airport's position as a vital logistics hub, capable of facilitating specialized cargo for wildlife conservation. The bongos will be integrated into a breeding program to enhance genetic diversity as part of Kenya’s recovery plan for this endangered species.
