STB rulings facilitate the U.S.-Mexico interchange between CSX and CPKC.

The Surface Transportation Board (STB) recently approved, with conditions, the acquisition of rail lines from Meridian & Bigbee Railroad (MNBR) by CSX and Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC). This decision, effective November 16, allows CSX to operate a 93.7-mile line in Alabama and CPKC a 50.4-mile line in Mississippi and Alabama, facilitating a direct interchange between the two companies. Both leaders expressed optimism about improved service and competitiveness for customers, enhancing connectivity across Mexico, Texas, and the Southeastern U.S.
