On April 17, 2026, Cathay Group reported a mixed performance in March, with a 24% rise in passenger numbers compared to March 2025, despite facing increased jet fuel prices, now at $197.83 per barrel. This led to some flight consolidations, affecting about 2% of Cathay Pacific’s and 6% of HK Express’s frequencies. Demand remained strong for premium cabins, driven by events and holiday travel. Cargo operations also saw an 11% increase in tonnage. Looking ahead, Cathay plans to maintain flight schedules while adapting to ongoing market dynamics and Middle East developments.
