Cathay is making progress in its sustainability initiatives.

Cathay's Sustainability Report 2025 highlights significant strides in its commitment to sustainability and the aviation industry's decarbonization goals. CEO Ronald Lam emphasized the importance of partnerships and strategic investments in areas like Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Single-use Plastics (SUP). Key achievements include a nearly 180% increase in committed SAF usage with 17 global partners, a reduction in passenger-facing SUP items, and initiatives to enhance community engagement, such as the revamped "I Can Fly" program, which reached over 1,550 students.
