Chemical companies at the Port of Antwerp are piloting a facility designed to convert wastewater into process water, enhancing drought resilience. Launched in February as part of the CHERISH-2-O project, this demonstration plant processes 1.5 m³ of wastewater per hour from five companies, with plans to eventually serve twelve. The project aims to test individual and combined wastewater streams to determine the feasibility of shared water reuse. It promises insights into circular water use in the chemical industry, contributing to sustainable practices in the port and beyond.
