In February 2026, Asia Pacific carriers saw an 8.7% year-on-year increase in international air cargo demand, driven by strong trade activity and e-commerce. Freight capacity also rose by 8.3%, leading to a slight increase in the freight load factor to 58.2%. For the first two months, cargo volumes grew by 7.6%, reflecting positive business confidence. However, escalating geopolitical tensions and rising jet fuel prices, which surged from $90 to $150 per barrel, pose challenges, potentially affecting future air cargo demand and operational costs.
