Boeing has achieved a significant milestone in developing its 777-8 freighter, with structural assembly and systems installation progressing at its Everett, Washington facility. The first aircraft's wing-body join has been completed, integrating the mid-fuselage with 235-foot wings. Teams are now installing systems and wiring, marking a key transition in production. The 777-8 freighter, which has 68 orders, is designed to offer 30% better fuel efficiency and lower operating costs compared to the 747-400 freighter. Production began in July 2025, with service expected by 2028.
