LATAM Cargo and Andes reduce CO₂ emissions in salmon transportation to the United States.

LATAM Cargo Group and Andes Integración Logística have successfully executed a carbon-reduced salmon shipment for AquaChile from Chile to the U.S., utilizing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) through a Book and Claim model. This operation, conducted on March 7, 2026, achieved a 10% reduction in CO₂ emissions, equivalent to 0.6 tonnes, by using over 350 liters of SAF derived from animal waste. The collaboration highlights the potential for sustainable logistics and the scaling of SAF across South America, aiming to aid exporters in minimizing their carbon footprints.
