An AI-powered robot for biodiversity monitoring was tested at Milano Malpensa Airport as part of the European OLGA project, which aims to enhance airport sustainability. Previously trialed at Paris Charles de Gaulle, the robot is equipped with sensors and AI to identify plant species, map vegetation, and gather real-time habitat data. The test involved SEA Milan Airports, Paris Aéroport, and researchers from Université Paris XII Val de Marne, focusing on improving natural area management around airports. The OLGA project, funded by Horizon 2020, fosters innovation in environmental management.
