Kitakyushu Airport, in partnership with DHL Global Forwarding Japan, has achieved a significant milestone by successfully transporting 180 tonnes of semiconductor manufacturing equipment from Amsterdam to Japan, marking its largest and most complex cargo operation. This initiative, initiated in 2023 to meet regional demand, involved meticulous planning and collaboration among experienced staff to ensure safe transport, including risk assessments and environmental controls. DHL's establishment of a dedicated office at the airport, alongside support from local authorities and subsidy programs, aims to enhance the efficiency of semiconductor-related cargo flows.
