SF Express, a major logistics firm from China, has made its inaugural flight to East Midlands Airport with its own Boeing 747 freighter from Ezhou Huahu International Airport, marking a significant operational shift. This move reflects a commitment to a long-term presence at the UK cargo hub, where SF Express previously relied on charter services. The airport, positioned as the UK's largest dedicated freight facility, has experienced a 12% growth in cargo volumes, despite a 7% decline in freight aircraft movements due to a trend towards larger aircraft for long-haul routes.
