Retail sales in September showed positive growth, with total sales reaching $714.4 billion, a 0.4% increase from August and a 1.7% rise year-over-year, according to the U.S. Census Bureau and the National Retail Federation (NRF). Retail trade sales saw a 0.3% monthly increase and a 1.5% annual rise. Non-store retailers, including e-commerce, grew by 7.1% annually, while food services and drinking places experienced a 3.7% gain. NRF's adjusted data also indicated a 0.4% month-over-month increase and a 1.7% annual rise in retail sales, slightly down from August.
