The Port of Los Angeles has commenced construction on the Avalon Pedestrian Bridge.

Officials from various levels of government and local leaders have commenced construction on the $152 million Avalon Pedestrian Bridge and Promenade Gateway project in Wilmington, aimed at enhancing public access to the waterfront. This initiative will create a 380-foot bridge and a recreational area, transforming 12 acres of industrial land into green space with amenities like seating areas, pathways, and restrooms. Designed with community input, the project aligns with the Wilmington Waterfront Master Plan and is expected to be completed by late summer 2028, benefiting local residents and businesses.
