Global airfreight tonnage dropped by 7% in week 7, ending February 15, following five weeks of growth, largely due to seasonal factors and the completion of Valentine's Day flower shipments. Central and South America saw the largest decline at 24%, while Africa's tonnage fell by 5%. Despite a mixed capacity trend, overall capacity increased by 2% from the previous two weeks. Year-on-year, global tonnage was up 7%, driven mainly by Asia Pacific. Airfreight rates rose 2% week-on-week, influenced by regional variations and seasonal traffic patterns.
