At the 2026 Air Cargo Conference, Roland Beason, COO of Global K9 (GK9), urged the TSA to clarify canine screening regulations for dangerous goods, particularly concerning the growing issue of lithium battery shipments. He pointed out inconsistencies in the current Third-Party Canine-Cargo (3PK9-C) Program, advocating for a more standardized set of guidelines to enhance safety and compliance across the industry. Beason noted that GK9 is working closely with the TSA on regulatory revisions, with expected updates to the 3PK9-C program later this year to improve cargo security.
